Whelen CenCom Core®
The Whelen CenCom Core® is a highly configurable emergency and commercial vehicle control system designed to manage warning lights, siren functions, vehicle inputs, and other connected equipment from one centralized platform. Built around Whelen’s WeCanX® communication system, CenCom Core can control and synchronize up to 99 compatible devices, making it suitable for everything from patrol vehicles to complex fire, EMS, DOT, and specialty fleet builds.
CenCom Core is designed around automation and programmable vehicle behavior. Using Whelen Command® software, installers can customize lighting functions, inputs, outputs, siren behavior, warning priorities, and vehicle-triggered actions to match the operational requirements of a department or fleet. The system provides 17 total inputs and 23 outputs and can be expanded further through compatible high-current and multi-output expansion modules.
Advanced technologies include Dynamic Variable Intensity™ (DVI™), Vehicle-to-Vehicle Sync, and Tone Sync, allowing compatible vehicles and equipment to coordinate lighting intensity, flash patterns, and audible warning. CenCom Core also supports Digital Voice Messages and provides real-time system diagnostics to help simplify troubleshooting and fleet maintenance.
Current CenCom Core systems also include Whelen’s Core+ connected features. A Vehicle Safety Gateway® and five years of Core+ functionality—including geofence-controlled features, device locking, and over-the-air firmware and configuration updates—are included at no additional cost and do not require a subscription.. Fleets that need additional connected capabilities can upgrade to the Whelen Cloud Platform®.
