Whelen Core-R®
The Whelen Core-R® is a modular vehicle control system designed for law enforcement, fire, EMS, roadside, and service fleets that need advanced warning-system control without committing to a large fixed I/O package. Its compact architecture is designed to scale with the vehicle, allowing installers to add expansion modules, control heads, siren amplifiers, and other components based on the specific build.
Core-R is powered by Whelen’s WeCanX® communication system and can control up to 99 compatible WeCanX devices or remote modules. It supports advanced technologies including Dynamic Variable Intensity™ (DVI™), Vehicle-to-Vehicle Sync, and Tone Sync, helping fleets coordinate warning-light output and audible warning across equipped vehicles.
Configuration and diagnostics are handled through Whelen Command® software, allowing the finished system to be programmed around the way the vehicle is actually operated. The modular enclosure also provides top access to connectors and fuses, helping simplify installation, servicing, and future expansion.
Current Core-R systems also support Core+, Core+ functionality is included at no additional cost and requires no subscription, while fleets needing additional connected capabilities can use the optional Whelen Cloud Platform®..
