Whelen Ion® Series

The Whelen ION® Series is a compact, high-performance warning-light family designed for law enforcement, fire, EMS, utility, work-truck, and specialty fleet applications. Its small footprint makes it easy to integrate into grilles, mirrors, push bumpers, rear hatches, license-plate areas, and other tight vehicle locations without sacrificing strong warning visibility.

ION lightheads are available in SOLO™, split-color, DUO™, and TRIO™ configurations, giving departments and fleets considerable flexibility when selecting warning colors and operating functions. SOLO models use TIR™ directional or wide-angle optics, while DUO and TRIO models use Linear Super-LED® technology for multi-color capability.

Integrated SmartLED® electronics eliminate the need for a separate external flasher, while Scan-Lock™ provides programmable flash-pattern selection. Depending on configuration, the ION Series offers 33 SOLO, 67 DUO, or 32 TRIO Scan-Lock patterns, along with synchronization for simultaneous or alternating operation. When paired with a compatible Core® system, Steady-Lock™ can automatically place the lighthead into steady-burn operation when required.

Multiple mounting and accessory options make ION particularly useful for vehicle-specific installations. Universal and surface-mount housings are available along with swivel, pedestal, grommet, rear-hatch, grille, and license-plate mounting solutions. Hard-coated lenses, conformal-coated electronics, and a die-cast aluminum housing provide durability for demanding emergency and fleet environments.
