The Whelen M4 is a compact, high-output surface-mounted warning lighthead designed for law enforcement, fire, EMS, commercial, and other public-safety vehicle applications. Its rectangular housing uses Whelen Linear Super-LED® technology and advanced optics to produce bright, consistent warning output while maintaining a relatively compact footprint suitable for grilles, push bumpers, body panels, and other exterior mounting locations.
The M4 is available in SOLO™, Split-Color, and DUO™ configurations, allowing it to serve as a primary warning light or provide combined warning and illumination functions depending on the selected model. SmartLED® electronics provide self-contained flash control, while Scan-Lock™ and synchronization capability allow multiple Whelen devices to operate with coordinated or alternating warning patterns. Compatible SOLO™ and DUO™ models also incorporate Dynamic Variable Intensity™ (DVI™) to gradually adjust output for improved nighttime visibility and scene safety.
Specialized M4 configurations include V-Series® 180-degree warning/perimeter models and combination driving/warning lightheads, giving installers additional flexibility for intersection warning, perimeter visibility, and forward illumination. Hard-coated lenses, conformal-coated electronics, and IP67-rated construction help provide dependable operation in demanding vehicle environments.
