The Whelen Outer Edge® Rear Pillar is a vehicle-specific warning-light system designed to increase side and rear visibility on law-enforcement vehicles without obstructing the driver’s rearward view. Two compact housings mount along the vehicle’s rear pillars and contain a total of six powerful ION™ Super-LED® lightheads, providing additional warning coverage for traffic stops, roadside incidents, pursuit operations, and emergency-scene protection.
Each Outer Edge Rear Pillar housing is molded specifically to follow the contours of the supported vehicle. Vacuum-formed ABS housings provide a clean, integrated appearance, while clear or smoked hard-coated lenses help protect the lightheads against exposure to sun, salt, sand, road chemicals, moisture, vibration, and corrosion. Smoked-lens configurations retain SAE Class 1 performance while providing a more discreet appearance when the system is not activated.
The system is available with SOLO™, DUO™, and TRIO™ ION™ Super-LED® lightheads, allowing single-, dual-, or three-color warning configurations depending on the selected model.Control options include WeCanX® and Low Current, while Scan-Lock™ provides multiple programmable flash patterns. Low Current SOLO™ models can also provide Traffic Advisor™ directional warning patterns.
