Whelen Perimeter Enhancement Light (PEL)

$0.00

The Whelen Perimeter Enhancement Light (PEL) is designed to illuminate the ground immediately around emergency, utility, and specialty fleet vehicles, improving visibility for personnel working in dark or low-light conditions. Rather than projecting light outward like a traditional scene light, the PEL directs high-intensity illumination downward at approximately a 40° angle to create broad, even coverage around the vehicle.

That makes the PEL particularly useful around fire apparatus, ambulances, command vehicles, utility trucks, and other vehicles where crews are frequently entering compartments, handling equipment, or working alongside the vehicle at night. It can also be installed in an inverted orientation, giving installers additional flexibility depending on the body design and mounting location.

The current PEL2 design uses Super-LED® optics and Whelen’s E Block™ watertight sealing technology to help protect the lighthead from moisture. A fully encapsulated construction adds resistance to vibration and corrosion, while molded rubber gaskets help protect painted body panels during installation.

Multiple flange colors and lighting configurations are available, including white illumination, single-color amber/red/blue models, and two-color combinations that pair warning colors with white. This allows the PEL to serve as both perimeter illumination and, in applicable configurations, part of a vehicle’s warning-light package.
