Whelen Traffic Advisor™ 4500/Arrow
The Whelen Traffic Advisor™ 4500/Arrow is a large-format directional warning system designed to give approaching motorists an unmistakable visual indication of where they should travel around a stopped vehicle, lane closure, accident scene, or roadway work zone. Its arrow-head configuration makes it especially appropriate for larger municipal, utility, fire, DOT, and incident-management vehicles where traffic direction needs to remain visible at greater distances.
The system provides four primary directional functions—Left, Right, Split, and Warning—allowing operators to change the displayed message as traffic conditions change. Configurations are available using 500 Series Linear-LED®, 600 Series, and 700 Series lightheads, with arrays ranging from 8 to 16 lamps depending on the selected model.
Current 500 Series arrow configurations include 12- and 16-light Linear Super-LED® models, while additional configurations use 600 Series or 700 Series lightheads. Depending on the model, the system includes either a TACTL5 or TACTL6 control head, providing dedicated operator control of the directional display from inside the vehicle.
The 4500/Arrow is built around an extruded-aluminum housing with fully encapsulated electronics and hard-coated lenses for resistance to moisture, vibration, corrosion, sunlight, salt, sand, and road chemicals. Surface- and slide-bolt mounting options, along with several available cable lengths, allow the system to be adapted to different vehicle bodies and installation locations.
